Photographic Collection
Angels without Wings
Following the impact of the photographic book Anjos sem Asas, which reveals the raw and intense reality of children in Angola and in various parts of the world, a new collection of photographic paintings has emerged that transforms this same reality into Art. This collection personifies Photography through painting, using brushstrokes that, alongside the strength of the image, intensify the emotional impact of the narrative.
The images, imbued with symbolism, reflect the struggle and resistance of these children. Shades of yellow not only evoke abundance and gold, but also the light of hope, a beacon shining at the end of the tunnel of adversity. The grays, in turn, represent the exploitation of natural resources, such as the precious minerals that abound in these lands and that are extracted mercilessly, often through child labor and inhumane conditions. The focus on their eyes – always illuminated – is a powerful metaphor for their vision of the world, a light that never goes out, even in the face of suffering. The shrapnel, visible in the images, reflects the collapse of lives that are fragmented by cruelty, but that still find the strength to rise again.
The collection is not just a visual portrait, but a cry against indifference. She invites the viewer to go beyond the surface, to see the pain and beauty that coexist in the lives of these children, and to reflect on what can be done to change this reality.
With Angels Without Wings, the invitation is clear: childhood suffering cannot be a privilege for a few, but a right for all. This is a collection that aims not only to raise awareness, but also to inspire action. The message is a call to society to commit itself not only to reflect, but to act, to be part of the change, to ensure that every child has the right to a dignified and full childhood.
